What Stamped Concrete Costs and What It Takes to Maintain: Stamped concrete runs $14 to $22 a square foot installed in Edison, depending on pattern complexity, color count, and site conditions — still less than natural stone or high-end pavers by a wide margin, with far fewer long-term problems. Stamped concrete uses two colors — the base color mixed into the concrete itself and an accent color troweled or shaken on top before stamping. The two colors together give it a real, weathered stone look. Common combinations: Warm gray with charcoal accent (most popular for patios); Tan / buff with brown accent (great for wooded lots and North Edison colonials); Slate gray with black accent (modern, works well on contemporary homes); Terracotta with brown accent (Mediterranean look); Custom color match — bring us a paint chip or a stone sample.

How Stamped Concrete Gets Built: 1) Base prep — same as a standard slab, with compacted stone, wire mesh, and forms. 2) Pour and screed — 4,000 PSI air-entrained mix with color mixed in. 3) Bull float — flatten the top so the stamp can grab it. 4) Broadcast accent color — a second color is thrown across the surface. 5) Stamp — heavy rubber stamps are pressed into the wet surface in your chosen pattern. 6) Cure for 24 hours — do not touch it. 7) Wash and seal — release powder is rinsed off, then a solvent-based sealer is rolled on. The whole job takes 2 to 4 days depending on square footage.
